Get Hired
Get Hired is Connecticut’s largest insurance and financial services career fair for college students. At its pilot event at the Connecticut Science Center in January 2012, Get Hired gathered 22 regional, national and globally recognized insurance and financial services companies to meet nearly 400 college students seeking opportunities in Connecticut’s IFS industry. Students from colleges and universities across Connecticut turned out to market their talents and approximately 20 percent of attendees hailed from institutions beyond Connecticut, reaching as far west as California and as far south as Alabama.
Senior human resources recruiters and local industry executives were on site to meet potential candidates and engage in networking throughout the event. A work-life balance element was also in play, with representation from the MetroHartford Alliance’s Hartford Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (HYPE), Hartford.com and Connecticut Whale.
“The Get Hired career fair was one of the best that I have attended in a while,” said Greg Roto, AVP of Human Resources for Vantis Life Insurance Company. “The students were prepared, articulate and motivated to work. What a great representation of the future workforce for the IFS industry!”
